Bathroom Door Germs

by Hugh Martin on 2006-08-16 12:18:07 - Email This

Evidently there must be a large percentage of people who exit public restrooms using their elbows.

Why do I say this?  Well, because of the existence of this new product.

The first unit is mounted inside the bathroom, on the back of the door or on the wall adjacent the door.  The second unit, the receptacle, is mounted on the outside of the door.

When exiting, those with the heebie-jeebies of catching other peoples cooties can yank a tissue from the dispenser and use it to open the door.  Then simply drop it in the receptacle on the way out.

Now, I make light of this, as it seems extreme by standards from even a decade ago, but when you consider the list of germs and bacteria that could be on that door handle, it isn't funny at all.  Various Flu viruses, Staph, E-Coli, misc. fungii etc etc.

Hmm.  Not such a bad idea at all, is it?
